In this guide, we will walk you through the steps to erase an NFC tag using the NFC Tools app. Erasing a tag is useful if you want to repurpose it or if you’ve made a mistake while programming it. Before proceeding, ensure you have the NFC Tools app installed on your device. You can download it from the links at the bottom of this page if you haven't already.
Important Note About NFC Readers:
- Android Devices: The NFC reader is typically located on the lower back side of the phone.
- iOS Devices: The NFC reader is located on the upper back side of the phone.
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Open the NFC Tools App
Start by opening the NFC Tools app on your device. This app will allow you to interact with the NFC tag.
Step 2: Tap "Other"
Once you're in the app, tap on the "Other" option. This section provides additional tools and options for managing your NFC tags.
Step 3: Tap "Erase Tag"
In the "Other" section, you'll see an option labeled "Erase Tag." Tap on this option to prepare for erasing the NFC tag.
Step 4: Hold Your Product Up to Your Device
Now, hold your NFC product up to the NFC reader on your device. Make sure it's in the correct position (refer to the NFC reader locations above) and keep it there until the app confirms that the tag has been successfully erased.
